About Lazy Dragon

Hi! I’m a ceramic artist originally from South India, now living in Georgia, USA with my husband, our son, and our beloved dog.

My journey with clay began during the COVID pandemic, but my love for creative expression has been a lifelong thread—woven through years of exploring different art forms. Growing up in Southern India, I was surrounded by intricate designs, vibrant folk traditions, and everyday rituals rich with color and meaning. These early influences continue to shape my work today.

I create handbuilt pottery—each piece shaped slowly and intentionally. Clay, for me, is both vessel and canvas. My creative process is fueled by the sights and textures of nature, the rhythms of daily life, and the shared cultural memories that connect us. The surfaces of my work hold narrative, texture, and emotional residue—blending playful sculptural forms with hand-painted patterns that echo the folk art traditions I grew up with.

The name Lazy Dragon is a reflection of my family and the stories that inspire me. It’s a playful nod to my son—born in the Year of the Dragon and endlessly fascinated by these mythical creatures—and to the imaginative, joyful spirit my family brings into my life and work.
